English language challenges

Since this is the last time I'll be blogging, this one will be oriented towards giving a review of this term's course. I decided to take this class because I wanted to refresh my vocabulary and my ability to think in English, two things that I hadn't done properly in the last 6 or 7 years  woah, I hadn't realized it was that long.  I didn't have the opportunity to do so since high school and now I had it again. So I took the test to know which was my level and started the class as intended. I'd say that I'm pleased with the class because I got to do those two things I mentioned, and also I got to recognize some of my weaknesses. I already understood that my biggest strength in English is speaking; I'm not too bad at writing, but doing these blogs I could see some mistakes I made and learn how to correct them. I still have to keep writing in English to locate more difficulties in this area, and I also have problems with all the formal and grammatical a...

Changes to my study programme

Imagen
This year I started a two-year postgraduate programme of infant and adolescent clinical psychology. I singed to a line of work that is theoretically specific to Systemic and Narrative psychology, so half of my subjects relate to that line of study and work. The other half are curses that everyone, no matter their line of study, has to take, such as child and adolescent psychopathology and thesis preparation.  I'd say that the workload is a lot less than I anticipated. For some reason, I thought that this University and specifically, a postgraduate programme would require more work and time, but it wasn't like that, not really. The facilities are a lot different from the ones offered to undergraduate students. The buildings are a lot more modern, clean and pretty. One thing that I don't like very much is the fact that the room we always take our classes have big windows and no curtains, so the light is always hitting us in the face. But hey, if that's the price to...

Summer Holidays

Since before I was born, my family from my dad's side has had the tradition of going to the beach for two weeks in the summer, to a little place called "El Tabito" in El Tabo beach. This place is semi-private and has a lot of cabins and a direct path to the sea. Since it’s mostly private, there’s a group of people that go every year and we get together there. I made a lot of friends there when I was growing up. So I would like to go there with my siblings, their partners and my dad.       I would also like to make a trip to the south of Chile with my partner, we haven't decided yet if we are going or where to, since we usually do things spontaneously. I would love to go to Valdivia, Chiloé or Punta Arenas.  The activities that I like to do when I go on holidays are not that adventurous. I like to sleep and rest a lot, go to the beach, maybe bathe in the sea, read, go out to eat, take walks, watch movies and just enjoy not having responsibilities to at...
