Changes to my study programme

This year I started a two-year postgraduate programme of infant and adolescent clinical psychology. I singed to a line of work that is theoretically specific to Systemic and Narrative psychology, so half of my subjects relate to that line of study and work. The other half are curses that everyone, no matter their line of study, has to take, such as child and adolescent psychopathology and thesis preparation.

I'd say that the workload is a lot less than I anticipated. For some reason, I thought that this University and specifically, a postgraduate programme would require more work and time, but it wasn't like that, not really.

The facilities are a lot different from the ones offered to undergraduate students. The buildings are a lot more modern, clean and pretty. One thing that I don't like very much is the fact that the room we always take our classes have big windows and no curtains, so the light is always hitting us in the face. But hey, if that's the price to pay for clean and working bathrooms, I'll take it. Oh! And... they always have tea/coffee and cookies for us. If I wasn't a vegan, I'd be all over those! I just stick to my beloved tea.

The teaching methods I'd say is the thing I like the least. Most of the subjects are run by a lot of professionals, and it's hard to get used to constant change, mostly when I'm evaluated, since I don't know who will be reviewing my work, and we all know that we don't do the same things for all teachers, we adapt to their ways.

  1. I'm glad you had to experience your post graduate studies like that! I'm studying psychology too but I'm undergraduate so our facilities are another world for us and no cookies too :(

  2. I'm glad that at least the graduate students have access to the latest infrastructure built in the U (not really). But I'm glad that you had a good experience here and that the academic load is not too much, to be able to continue with your life normally. Hey, great that you like the systemic approach ;) I don't like clinic but systemic seems very interesting to me
