THE BEST CONCERT I'VE EVER GONE TO



I usually don´t remember this as often as I should, but given this topic I come to remember one of the greatest experiences I've had, in general and music-related. I'm talking about being able to go to Beyoncé's first ever concert in Chile that was a part of the "I am..." World Tour.

Since I was a kid, I had always been a fan of hers, but I mean... Just look at her. Who in their right mind isn't. With her being the talented being that she is. My family knew about this, and when my father heard that she was coming to our country, he wanted to buy me a ticket and he gave it to me as a present for Christmas, and I'm actually not ashamed to say that I cried.

It was on Valentine's Day (2010) at the Movistar Arena, and I went on my own. Best. Decision. Ever. I felt so free. Free to scream those lyrics as if my life depended on it.

It took me some time to realize that it was really her, in the flesh, that my eyes were seeing. I guess that feeling always comes when you've been following an artist for so long and then getting to see them live.

Now, seven years later, Beyoncé has become even more recognized for being able to pursue a family life and motherhood, still mantaining her career, raising her voice in political and social matters, and being a respectful, professional, and educated role model for girls and boys all over the world. She carries herself in a feminist manner, and that makes her very respectable in my opinion (also, her whole band is all-women). So just being able to say that I stood in the same place as her, counts as a milestone in my life.

Here's a link of the opening song of that concert, so if you don't know that much about her, at least you can see how appreciated and talented she is. She kept on singing and dancing her butt off throughout the whole concert; the atmosphere there was crazy.     Omg you have seen Queen B at live! I love her, she's amazing, so strong and her voice has so much power and strenght. She's an incredible dancer too, tell me what does that woman doesn't do?

What you’re about to experience is hard fangirling, and I apologize in advance. A COUNTRY I'D LIKE TO VISIT

Earlier this year I started wanting to learn a new language, and randomly enough, I chose Swedish. Why? Who knows. I guess that the fact that it was so out there, so complicated, so foreign to me and so musical sounding made me go for it... and I stuck with it. Months passed and I still had interest and was getting good at it, so, naturally, I started thinking about going to Sweden someday and checking out all its "otherness". Whenever it comes to me trying to choose a favorite movie, I always get stuck. I think I'm not able to choose just one that tops all the rest, so this time I'll review one movie that always leaves me with a good sensation, not that it's a typical happy movie or anything, maybe I'm just weird like that. The movie is "American Beauty" from 1999. It was directed by Sam Mendes and written by Alan Ball. This film is fearly known although many years has passed since its release, and the amount of awards it won reafirm this. The movie won several of these awards, specially at the 72nd Academy Awards, where the film won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (for Kevin Spacey), Best Original Screenplay and Best Cinematography. It shows the life of Lester Burnham (played by Kevin Spacey) who goes trough what is commonly refered to as a midlife crisis, but I think that that term usually takes away the seriousness and relevance...
